Hotel information: Lord Elgin Hotel, Ottawa & Best Western, Pembroke
Day 1, Monday, April 18th, Depart to Ottawa.
Taxi to Lord Elgin Hotel Ottawa. Check-in.
Welcome dinner – Meet guides Dr. Pino Buffone and Dr. Peter Gamwell and hosts from Renfrew County School Board Overnight, stay at the magnificent Lord Elgin Hotel Ottawa
Day 2, Tuesday, April 19th
Travel to Renfrew County
Tour of Elementary Schools (choice of three sites based on learning foci of the schools) Lunch (Provided by RCDSB)
Tour of Secondary Schools (choice of three sites based on learning foci of the schools) Overnight stay at Best Western Pembroke
Day 3, Wednesday, April 20th
Visit of Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation Territory
Lunch (Provided by RCDSB)
Renfrew Committees Meeting (1-5 p.m.) – focus on creativity & innovation in district Dinner with Senior Staff and Board of Trustees at 6 p.m (Provided by RCDSB) Location – TBD;
Overnight stay at Best Western Pembroke
Day 4, Thursday, April 21st
Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Bus Tour – selection of sites based on area(s)/discipline(s) of interest Lunch (Provided by RCDSB)
Open Space Sharing of the Day at 5 p.m.
(Location – TBD); Overnight stay at Best Western Pembroke
Day 5, Friday, April 22nd
Check out and excursion through Central Initiatives: Childcare Modernization;
Equity & Inclusivity;
Information & Communication Technologies;
Programs and/or Services;
Special Education
Adult & Continuing Education; De-brief - Synthesis and Summation of visit over lunch provided by Renfrew County. Transfer to airport for late day flight.
Trip includes:
- International flight from Bradley International Airport to Ottawa and return
- All transportation to and from school visits and other scheduled sites in Canada
- Hotels including Breakfast
- Welcome and Farewell Meals
- The cost of the educational program
Cost assuming double occupancy and availability - $2150 per person
Cost assuming single occupancy and availability - $2450 per person
The cost doesn’t cover:
- Travel health insurance
- Any activities not mentioned in the program
- Transportation to and from Bradley International Airport
- Tips
Payment Schedule (Alternate Schedule may be negotiated by request of the participant)
- $200 by December 14, 2021
- $650 by January 14, 2022
- $650 by February 14, 2022
- $650 by March 14, 2022
Note: If upgrade to single occupancy is requested and available:
$300 by February 14, 2022, for single occupancy
Cancellation Policy:
- All cancellations must be received in writing. The following cancellation schedule applies:
- 60% of the paid amount refunded 90 days prior to departure.
- 50% of the paid amount refunded between 90 and 60 days prior to departure.
- No refund within 60 days of the departure date.
