Day 1, Monday, April 10th, Depart to Helsinki, Finland

Day 2, Tuesday, April 11th, Welcome to Helsinki, Finland

- After arrival, our local coordinator will welcome the group, she will give a brief introduction to Helsinki during the bus transfer to the hotel

- Meet with Leena in the lobby for the refreshing visit and stroll to Suomenlinna fortress, Unesco Heritage site by city ferry

- Welcome meal at Suomenlinna Camp School, introduction to the week program

Day 3, Wednesday, April 12th, Introduction to the Finnish education system in a nutshell

08:30 am Departure from the hotel to the Finnish National Agency for Education, Hakaniemenranta 6, Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) is a national development agency. It is responsible for developing education and training, early childhood education and care and lifelong learning, as well as for promoting internationalization.

11:30am Lunch

1:00pm  Visit the Parliament of Finland, Education and Culture Committee Mannerheimintie 30

3:00 pm Guided walking tour of Helsinki, tour includes the VIP sights like the Rock Church, Music Hall, Oodi library, Senate Square, National Library, Helsinki University Main Library

Day 4, Thursday, April 13th, Finnish learning culture in practice and teacher training in general

08:15am           Departure from hotel to Viikki Teacher Training School (K12), Kevätkatu 2

9:00 am           Teacher education at Helsinki university teacher training school, visits to the classes, educational workshop on student centered learning at teacher training, school lunch

1:00pm            A visit to city school, Latokartano school, Helsinki Education Division, Agronominkatu 22

3:30pm                        A visit to Marimekko Outlet

5:00pm                        A bus transfer back to the Lilla Roberts Hotel

Day 5, Friday, April 14th, Finnish Basic Education: pedagogical workshops with local colleagues on students’ welfare

08:15am  Departure from the hotel to Maunula Secondary School and Helsinki School of Mathematics, Kuusikkotie 3

09:00am  Visit Kevätkumpu education centre, with school lunch, Sammontie 3

11:30am  A school lunch

1:00pm    A visit to local elementary school and day care centre

3:00pm    A bus transfer back to the Lilla Roberts Hotel

Day 6, Saturday, April 15th, Finnish learning culture in practice, management, and collaboration

08:00 am         Departure to Porvoo, founded 13^th century

1:30 pm           A stroll around Old Town Porvoo

4:00 pm           A bus transfer back to hotel

7:00 pm           Farewell Dinner at Lilla Roberts Hotel restaurant

Day 7, Sunday, April 16th

9:30am            Check out from the hotel and transfer to the Helsinki International Airpor HYPERLINK "https://www.finavia.fi/en/airports/helsinki-airport" 

Trip includes:
A round-trip flight from JFK
All transportation to and from school visits and other scheduled sites in Finland
Hotel Lilla Roberts with breakfast
2 dinners - Welcome Dinner and Farewell Dinner
4 lunches at host schools

The cost doesn’t cover:
Travel health insurance
Any activities not mentioned in the program
Tips
Transportation to and from JFK 

Cost assuming double occupancy and availability - $4,100^.00 per person
Cost assuming single occupancy and availability - $4,450^.00 per person 

Payment Schedule (Alternate payment schedule may be negotiated by request of the participant)

• $1400 by January 14, 2023
• $1400 by February 14, 2023
• $1300 by March 14, 2023

Note:  If an upgrade to single occupancy is requested and available:
$350 by February 1, 2023, for single occupancy 

Cancellation Policy:

• All cancellations must be received in writing.  The following cancellation schedule applies:
• 60% of the paid amount refunded 90 days prior to departure.
• 50% of the paid amount refunded between 90 and 60 days prior to departure.
• No refund within 60 days of the departure date.
