Dresden & Berlin Faculty-Led Travel Course

This program visits two German cities where major moments of European history took place. Students see the Reichstag building, the Berlin Wall, Charlottenburg Palace, Sanssouci Palace with the Nymphs' Bath, and the rebuilt Frauenkirche in Dresden.

  1. Reichstag buildingThe seat of the German parliament is topped by a glass dome that visitors can climb.
  2. Berlin WallThe wall divided the city from 1961 to 1989, and sections such as the East Side Gallery still stand.
  3. Charlottenburg PalaceThe largest palace in Berlin, built from 1695 as a summer residence for Queen Sophie Charlotte.
  4. Sanssouci PalaceFrederick the Great's summer palace in Potsdam, set within extensive gardens.
  5. Nymphs' BathA baroque garden pavilion in Dresden's Zwinger palace complex, decorated with fountains and sculpture.
  6. Frauenkirche, DresdenThe baroque church was destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt, reopening in 2005.
