Day 1, Saturday, April 13th:

Depart to Helsinki, Finland

Day 2, Sunday, April 14th

Welcome to Helsinki, Finland

    • 8:00am: Breakfast at Hotel Lilla Roberts.
    • 2:00pm: Meet our professional guide at Helsinki International Airport arrival hall. A brief introduction to Finland and Helsinki during bus transfer to the city center and Hotel Lilla Roberts.
    • 4:00pm: Optional short walk (including a sky view tour of the city).
    • 6:00pm: Welcome Dinner at Hotel Lilla Roberts restaurant.

Day 3, Monday, April 15thy, April 14th

Introduction to the Finnish education system

    • 8:00am: Breakfast at Hotel Lilla Roberts.
    • 8:30am: Departure by local tram or private bus to Finnish National Agency for Education. Overview of the principles of the Finnish education system.
    • 10:30am: Visit the Finnish Parliament for a possible discussion with education policymakers.
    • 11:30am: Lunch at Oodi library with an introduction to library education services, especially the children’s section.
    • 12:30pm: A visit to Helsinki Music Centre, a meeting with Sibelius Academyeducators, Töölönlahdenkatu 16 C
    • 2:30pm:  Visit to Etu-Töölön lukio, upper secondary school, Arkadiankatu 26, Student Science Tutors workshop
    • 5:00pm: Return to the hotel

Day 4, Tuesday, April 16th

 Finnish learning culture in practice and teacher training

    • 8:00am: Breakfast at Hotel Lilla Roberts.
    • 8:30am: Departure to Helsinki Normal Lyceum (K12).
    • 9:00am:Teacher education at Helsinki university, class visits, workshop on teacher training, school lunch, teacher trainees, and trainers
    • 1:00pm: VVisit to bilingual Engel Kindergarten,Albertinkatu 2
    • 3:00pm: Visiting Sanoma Pro, part of Sanoma Learning, European K12 learning company, Porkkalankatu 20 A.
    • 5:00pm: Return to the hotel.

Day 5, Wednesday, April 17th:   

Engage with local educators and students

    • 8:00am: Breakfast at Hotel Lilla Roberts.
    • 9:00am: City ferry departure to Suomenlinna fortress, a UNESCO Heritage site.
    • 9:30am: Suomenlinna Camp School, Suomenlinna C 9, presentation
    • 10:30am:  Suomenlinna experience together with some school students /(Herttoniemenrannan alakoulu)
    • 12:00pm: School lunch followed by a reflective workshop.
    • 2:00pm: Lecture on inspiring learning methods.
    • 4:00pm: Return to the hotel.

Day 6, Thursday, April 18th

Engage with local educators and students

    • 8:00am: Breakfast at Hotel Lilla Roberts.
    • 8:30am: Metro to Herttoniemenrannan elementary school.
    • 9:00am: visit the school and work together with the teachers and students, including the school lunch
    • 1:30pm: Free afternoon for personal activities. Optional activity information will be provided.

Day 7, Friday, April 19th: 

Engage with local educators and students

    • 7:30am: Breakfast at Hotel Lilla Roberts.
    • 8:00am: Bus departure to Porvoo, founded in the 13th century. Visit Kevätkumpu education centre, followed by school lunch.
    • 1:30pm: Optional guided walking tour in Old Town Porvoo.
    • 3:30pm: Visit to Marimekko Outletincluding also a short Marimekko presentation
    • 5:15pm: Transfer by bus to Perho Culinary, Tourism and Business College, Mechelininkatu 7,a school presentation
    • 6:00pm: A farewell dinner and reflective chats in Perho restaurantز
    • 8:00pm: Bus back to the hotel.

Day 8, Saturday, April 20th: 

Goodbye Helsinki

    • 8:00am: Breakfast at Hotel Lilla Roberts.
    • 10:00am: Optional Finnish treasure hunt stroll exploring pedagogical and cultural treasures or personal leisure time.
    • 2:00pm: Bus transfer to Helsinki International Airport.

Cost Structure

Double room occupancy: $4450 per person.

Single room occupancy: $4950 per person.

Room Upgrade Options (subject to availability):
