Discover the vibrant crossroads of culture, heritage, and architecture on ARAMFO’s 2026 Faculty Development Program in Morocco and Spain. This unique seminar brings professors and academic leaders into dialogue with experts at leading universities, curators, and preservationists across Casablanca, Fes, Tangier, Seville, Córdoba, and Granada. Participants will explore Islamic, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque traditions through immersive site visits, including UNESCO World Heritage landmarks such as the Fes Medina, the Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba, and the Alhambra. With hands-on sessions in preservation, guided museum tours, and academic exchanges, this program enriches teaching and research while fostering cross-cultural collaboration. Day 1 – Saturday, May 16: Departure from the U.S.
Evening departure from JFK (overnight flight to Casablanca).
Day 2 – Sunday, May 17: Arrival in Casablanca
Morning arrival at Casablanca Mohammed V Airport.
Hotel check-in and rest.
Overnight in Casablanca.
Day 3 – Monday, May 18: Casablanca – Academic Engagement
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning academic seminar at the University of Casablanca: Modern Approaches to Art History and Preservation in Morocco.
Afternoon guided visit to the Hassan II Mosque, coordinated through the university.
Evening Welcome Dinner.
Overnight in Casablanca.
Day 4 – Tuesday, May 19: Fes – Cultural & Spiritual Capital
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning transfer to Fes.
Guided exploration of Fes Medina (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Seminar: Islamic Architectural Heritage and Urban Preservation.
Overnight in Fes.
Day 5 – Wednesday, May 20: Fes – Heritage & Preservation
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visits to madrassas, artisan quarters, and museums.
Seminar: Preservation Challenges in Moroccan Heritage Sites.
Group reflection session.
Overnight in Fes.
Day 6 – Thursday, May 21: Tangier – Gateway Between Africa & Europe
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning transfer to Tangier.
Guided city tour: Kasbah, medina, Andalusian influences.
Preparatory seminar: Andalusian Art and Its Transmission to Spain.
Overnight in Tangier.
Day 7 – Friday, May 22: Tangier → Seville
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning flight from Tangier to Seville.
Orientation tour of Seville, including Plaza de España and Seville Cathedral.
Academic seminar: Cross-Cultural Influences Between Morocco and Spain.
Overnight in Seville.
Day 8 – Saturday, May 23: Córdoba – Islamic & Gothic Heritage
Breakfast at the hotel.
Day trip to Córdoba.
Guided visit to the Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba (Mezquita-Catedral).
Discussion session on Islamic and Gothic architectural integration.
Return to Seville for overnight stay.
Day 9 – Sunday, May 24: Granada – Alhambra & Andalusian Heritage
Breakfast at the hotel.
Full-day excursion to Granada.
Seminar: Andalusian Art and Architectural Heritage.
Guided visit of the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens.
Return to Seville for overnight stay.
Day 10 – Monday, May 25: Seville – Preservation & Cultural Heritage
Breakfast at the hotel.
Seminar on contemporary preservation and museum curation practices.
Guided exploration of Santa Cruz district and Alcázar of Seville.
Evening Farewell Dinner.
Overnight in Seville.
Day 11 – Tuesday, May 26: Departure
Breakfast at the hotel.
Independent transfer to Seville Airport for return flight Seville → JFK.
The Program Cost is $4,700
Single Room Policy: Single rooms are available for an additional $600, subject to hotel availability. Payment is due 90 days before departure.
Program Cost Covers:
● Flights from JFK to Casablanca and return from Seville (flights from other states available for an additional fee)
● Domestic flight (Tangier to Seville)

● Unless otherwise stated, transportation to and from scheduled program activities is included.

● ARAMFO will arrange for one group transportation to and from the airport at a time when most participants will arrive in or leave the host country.

This educational trip may be funded out of pocket or through institutional support. Schools and universities may cover the full cost or offer partial sponsorship for faculty participation.
ARAMFO Payment Plan Options
We believe every participant should be able to travel without financial stress. The plans below provide flexible options to fit different budgets.
Option 1: Pay in Full at Enrollment (No Fee)
- Pay the entire program balance at the time of enrollment.
- Accepted methods: credit card, debit card, ACH, personal checks, and bank transfers.
Option 2: Automatic Payment Plan (No Fee)
Set up automatic monthly or bi-weekly payments with no additional fees. Payments are scheduled until 30 days before departure.
How it works
- No enrollment or plan fees.
- First payment of $300 due within 30 days of registration; credited toward your total balance.
- Choose monthly or bi-weekly automatic payments.
- At least $1,500 paid no later than 90 days before departure.
- Final balance paid no later than 55 days before departure.
- You may pay off your balance early at any time without fees.
- Accepted methods: credit card, debit card, ACH, personal checks, and bank transfers.
Cancellation Policy
- 50% of the paid amount refunded between 100 and 91 days prior to departure.
- 40% of the paid amount refunded between 90 and 61 days prior to departure.
- 30% of the paid amount refunded between 60 and 51 days prior to departure.
- No refund within 50 days of departure.
